In this episode of Startup Insider, Nikolas Samios, Managing Partner at PT1, and Fabian Heilemann, Founder and CEO of AENU, analyze the Voltfang funding round and the German Startups Association's Innovation Agenda 2030.

Voltfang has secured €8 million in an oversubscribed Series A funding round, consisting of €7 million in equity and €800,000 in grants. The round was led by FORWARD.One, with participation from Interzero, PT1, AENU, Helen Ventures, Daphni, Goldbeck, and Maximilian Viessmann. The capital will be used to expand Voltfang's product portfolio and improve its energy management system. The goal is to increase storage capacity by 40 MWh by 2025 to further solidify its market position as a leading provider of sustainable energy storage solutions.

The German Startups Association's Innovation Agenda 2030 aims to significantly strengthen Germany's innovative capacity by 2030. The agenda includes six key areas: a central role for the state with more public contracts for startups, the promotion of 30 deep-tech unicorns by 2030, attracting talent through measures such as making English the official language, doubling the number of climate-tech unicorns, tripling venture capital investments to one percent of GDP, and increasing diversity through maternity protection for female founders.
